Must-do Summer Activities in Texas

The heat in Texas is inevitable, but there is still many ways to enjoy the Texas outdoors this summer! (Just remember to hydrate!) 

 

1. Enchanted Rock, Fredericksburg

You can hike, backpack, camp, rock climb, picnic, bird, study nature, geocache and stargaze. The best part about this hike? The amazing view.

2. Schlitterbahn, Multiple Locations
The best outdoor fun you can have in Texas! There may be crowds, but you can't beat the fun you can have at Schlitterbahn. Enjoy activities for all ages. Enjoy even more by taking advantage of their lodging opportunities. The fun is limitless! Find the closest park to you here.

 3. Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic, Austin
The 42nd edition of the picnic takes place at the Circuit of The Americas' Austin360 Amphitheater on Saturday, July 4th. The all-day event on America's birthday features performances from more than 20 artists on two stages, including Willie Nelson & Family, Eric Church, Merle Haggard, Kacey Musgraves, and much more. For more information here

4. Big Bend Ranch State Park, Saucedo
Big Bend Ranch State Park offers outdoor recreation for the truly adventurous. This remote park features rugged mountains, steep canyons, amazing views, unparalleled night skies, and solitude in a high desert setting. Activities include Horseback Riding, 4X4 Tours, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Rafting, Nature Viewing, and more!

5. Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake, Austin
10 miles of trails border Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin and serve as a social hub for runners, walkers and cyclists, as well as paddling, rowing, and fishing in the lake. Don't forget to experience the new Boardwalk at Lady Bird Lake!
